We set up event headquarters at Willa, our mixed-use gem at 1600 South 1st. There’s plenty of room in Willa’s courtyard, and easy access to the retail tenants. From Willa it’s a short walk to 900 South 1st and Frank. Our new rental Bruno at 2001 South 1st is already starting construction. So exciting to have so much StoryBuilt in one place. We love that.
This was the first Sip ‘N Stroll since 2019. We invited businesses, neighbors, and South 1st fans to celebrate all that’s unique and fun about the neighborhood. We want to take part in amplifying our neighborhood, to help grow and support local businesses, and ensure that South 1st keeps thriving.
We expected a good turnout but we got a great turnout. Nearly 20 local businesses and non-profits participated by offering art installations, popups, discounts, drinks, and snacks. Our South 1st retail group chat was popping with praise after the event – several businesses had their best day in months. We estimate somewhere around 300+ guests. That’s the kind of energy we’re looking for.
